Abstract

In this research we try to shed light on effects of coercive societies on changing the dialects. We took Kirkukian
dialect as an example, because province of kirkuk is one of the places Kurdistan that has been widely faced
displacement and forced migration during successive Iraqi regimes. Those displacements to other coercive
societies of Kurdistan and Iraq affected the spoken language of the people, most notably among children.
In this research we try to put focus on these changes by comparing the dialects of Kirkuk’s people who stayed
in Kirkuk and it’s surroundings with the Kirkukians who faced displacement. We took Daratw’s society as an
example. And because there are different dialects in Kirkuk. In a research like this it is not possible to take all the
dialects. Therefore we only took “Sallaiy” as the example
