Abstract

This study is concerned with the problems faced by Western Kurds during the war. Particularly, in Afrin and its surrounding areas which suffer from war, violence, displacement and lack of freedom. Due to War and its consequences, there is no chance for peace, coexistence and tolerance in society. This condition has a complete reflection on the psychological state of the characters in the novel and has caused them hopelessness and alienation, they do not see any way out of this situation.  An uncertain future and an ill-fate await them. The ejection of Kurdish civilians from their homeland, looting of their property and then forcing them to live in camps and displacement, bombing and killing of children, women and the elderly, kidnapping and torture of innocent people are the scenes in the novel. The novelist associates the source of these problems with the lack of humanistic thought.  Because when the principles of humanism become the standard, individuals will live together equally regardless of color, nationality and religion, the door of dialogue and understanding will be opened and everyone will dream of a better world and a brighter future under the shadow of freedom. Thus, the novelist views the existence of a humanistic perspective as the key to solving problems and calls for peace and coexistence.
